PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer capable of raising a content of 3-hydroxy-5-(4- cyanophenoxy)valeric unit which has hardly been contained conventionally in PHA and its production method, and to provide a production method of this polymer. SOLUTION: To obtain PHA having 3-hydroxy-5-(4-cyanophenoxy)valeric unit shown by chemical formula [1] and 3-hydroxy-5-phenoxyvaleric unit shown by chemical formula [2], of 1% or above, respectively, by culturing microbes in media containing compounds shown by formulae [4] and [5] and separating them from cells after culturing to be refined.
