PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound as an antifungal agent having high antifungal activity on various fungi that may proliferate in life space. SOLUTION: This antifungal agent comprises as the active ingredients 4- hydroxy-6-methyl-3-(4-methylpentanolyl)-2-pyrone and a salt of a metal selected from either zinc, copper or silver. Use of this antifungal agent can inhibit the proliferation of fungi.
