PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail generating small elongation of a tension member and with a low cost. SOLUTION: A decorative rubber 3 is piled together in a back face of an endless band-shaped canvas layer 2 having an almost C-shaped cross section, and a tension member 4 consisting of a cord 5 of Aramid fiber is arranged inside these canvas layer 2 or decorative rubber 3. The decorative rubber 3 is piled together in a back face of the endless band-shaped canvas layer 2 with an almost C-shaped cross section, and a tension member 14 consisting of a cord unit 17 integrally coating with a coating material 16 a plurality of cords 15 of the Aramid fiber, arranged in plane shape and in parallel, is arranged inside these canvas layer 2 or decorative rubber 3.
