摘要 PURPOSE: To attach an auxiliary holding linear base material such as a linear spacer or a linear damper for auxiliary holding a linear base material such as a cathode filament or a wire grid, to a base material such as a substrate, by ultrasonic welding without using an adhesive material such as frit glass or a conductive paste, in an electron tube such as a fluorescent character display tube. CONSTITUTION: The end of a coil part 131 in a cathode filament 13 is fixed to a cathode attaching metal layer 22 of an aluminum thin film or a thick film formed on a glass substrate 11, and a spacer 151 constituted of a metal wire such as an aluminum wire is bonded to the metal layer 22 by ultrasonic welding. The welding is carried out putting the wedge tool of an ultrasonic welder on the spacer 151 in the position where the cathode filament 13 has a contact with the spacer 151. A U-shaped recess is formed in the welded portion. The recess also serves for preventing a positional shift of the cathode filament 13. As needed, a metal layer 142 is formed on the substrate 11, and a damper 152 formed of a metal wire such as an aluminum wire to prevent the vibration of the cathode filament is provided.
