PURPOSE: A castable block for tundish is provided to obtain clean steel with high purity by installing a castable block having a certain shape in the tundish and manufacturing the castable block using a refractory material having heat impact resistance, erosion resistance, volume stability and crack resistance. CONSTITUTION: The castable block for tundish comprises inward bended projections(7) formed on the upper inner surface of wall surface bodies(10) upper and lower parts of which are opened in the central part of the tundish into which molten steel is dropped from a ladle so as to float and remove impurities including nonmetal inclusions by controlling flow of molten steel, wherein the bottom surface of the castable block is opened or integrated with side wall surfaces to be directly contacted with the surface of the tundish, a cross-sectional area of the lower inner wall surface of the bended projections is larger than that of the entrance surface (upper hole surface) of the bended projections of the castable block where molten steel comes in and goes out, the castable block is formed in an oval, circular or polygonal shape, and the castable block is comprised of one or more materials selected from 5 to 99 weight parts of alumina (Al2O3), 50 to 90 weight parts of magnesium oxide (MgO) and 5 to 90 weight parts of mullite as a principal constituent, and 20 weight parts or less of alumina cement (Al2O3-CaO) as a binder.
