A base bar suitable for use in a blind comprises a central web 12, and two resilient arms 14,16, preferably symmetrical, defining an elongate chamber. when no fabric has been inserted there is a gap 25 of preferably 0 to 2 mm. The bar may include a second chamber, preferably symmetrical to the first about the central web. A loop of fabric 64 can be retained in the chamber by inserting a rod into the loop, or an end of the fabric may include a thickened region 58' which will be retained by the resilient arms. The free end of the fabric may cover one side of the bar and be retained in the second chamber. A manufacturing process is also described where a wheel or disc is used to urge the resilient arms apart and form a loop of fabric in the chamber, before fitting the retaining rod. |
