PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an image having excellent each type durability of a thermal transfer image even under severe using conditions and an intermediate transfer recording medium used therefor. SOLUTION: The intermediate transfer recording medium comprises at least a base film and a transfer part releasably provided on the base film. The method for forming the image comprises the steps of forming the image on the transfer part, transferring the transfer part to a material to be transferred, and then again transferring the transfer part of a next intermediate transfer recording medium at least once or more onto the material having the image. In this case, a method for forming the image comprising the steps of setting a hologram image at least on another screen in the intermediate transfer recording medium, and forming the image on the transfer part having the hologram image is preferably executed. Accordingly, the transfer part formed with the thermal transfer image and a film for protecting the thermal transfer image can be rigidly provided by superposing once or more the transfer part to become the uppermost surface of the final state on the transfer part.
