PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excavating apparatus for excavating both hard ground and cohesive ground. SOLUTION: This excavating apparatus is provided with a motor 50 having an output shaft and a casing with a diameter D3, a plurality of excavating members 40, a rim 56 having an outer edge where the excavating members are fixed, an inner edge with a diameter D2 larger than the diameter D3, and a width e smaller than the length L of the motor, connecting members 54, 60 fixed to the shaft of the motor, and two support members for connecting the rim to the connecting members so that the rim is positioned in the periphery of the rim and offset to the connecting members in the direction of the shaft.
