PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of adhesion of a sheet-like material to a rotating roll when the rotating speed of the roll is changed in a stretching apparatus comprising a plurality of rotating rolls provided between an inlet and an outlet of the material made of a thermoplastic resin to stretch the sheet-like material in a longitudinal direction by passing the material in a state in which the rotating speed of the roll at an outlet side is set faster than that of the roll at an inlet side. SOLUTION: The stretching apparatus comprises a temperature regulator 23 for regulating the temperature of the rotating roll 21 to a set temperature, and a temperature switching unit 25 for sequentially switching the set temperature of the regulator 23 so that the temperature of the roll 21 change the temperature in response to the rotating speed of the roll 21 while the speed of the roll 21 is sequentially changed.
