PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deviation of an operating point from the optimum fuel consumption line while ensuring set allowance drive output. SOLUTION: This controller for a vehicle is provided with a means 19 for calculating the minimum ensured output Pn by adding the allowance drive output Pm to target drive output Pd, a means 17 for calculating the optimum fuel consumption rotation speed Ng based on the target drive output Pd and the optimum fuel consumption output characteristic of an engine, a means 20 for calculating the minimum ensured rotation speed Nk based on the minimum ensured output Pn and the maximum output characteristic of the engine, a means 21 for comparing the optimum fuel consumption rotation speed Ng with the minimum ensured rotation speed Nk to select the higher speed as a target input rotation speed Npri of a continuously variable transmission, a continuously variable transmission control means for controlling a change gear ratio of the continuously variable transmission based on a drive shaft rotation speed and the target input rotation speed Npri, and an engine control means for controlling a torque of the engine based on an engine rotation speed and the target drive output Pd. |
