PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a separation of scattering dust from a slag more perfect by being not liable to cool the vicinity of a downstream opening end of a rotary kiln, to solidify the slag and to close the downstream opening and suppressing a heat radiation from the downstream opening. SOLUTION: The rotary kiln comprises a baffle plate 25 for partly shielding the downstream opening end of a cylindrical rotary kiln body 2, and a slag discharge port 26 provided near the downstream end of the kiln body so that the discharge port is disposed at the upper part of a slag conveyor space 11.
