PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a work method for removing soot adhering to the wall face of a burner, an incinerator, or a chimney, which suppresses the cost of dumping by lessening the quantity of blast material to be dumped with the soot, and suppresses the cost more by enabling the blast to be reused, and materializes the work where attention is paid to environment by lessening the quantity of dumped industrial waste. SOLUTION: Quartz sand (b) where shot blast is performed is cast onto a sieve 3, the soot and the sand are sieved while being washed by water jet, and the quartz sand (b) from which the soot is removed is recovered on the sieve.
