PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized shock absorber showing large shock absorbing force. SOLUTION: The shock absorber is comprised of a cylinder 20 in which operating fluid is filled up and a piston 30 connected with a piston rod 40 is slidably arranged, and an accumulating chamber 50 capable of connecting with the cylinder through a fluid passage and also accommodating operating fluid equivalent to the volume of a piston rod 40 inserting into the cylinder 20 when absorbing shock. The cylinder 20 and accumulating chamber 50 are respectively arranged in parallel.
