PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate with superior durability, and a liquid crystal display device using the same. SOLUTION: The polarizing plate is constituted by sticking a protective film to a polarizer with >=40% transmittance as a single substance, composed of a synthetic resin film. The polarizing plate has such a relation between an iodine concentration and the transmittance as a single substance of the polarizer that is expressed by a following inequality. Iodine concentration (mass.%)/transmittance as a single substance >=0.030. |
