PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buried target detection device capable of significantly increasing the detectable range of a target by inhibiting a ringing which may occur at the coil of a transmitting antenna after the transmission of a magnetic field has been stopped. SOLUTION: A single-turn coil is employed as the coil for the transmitting antenna to minimize the line capacity and inductance to inhibit the occurrence of a ringing. Either a circuit arrangement in which the single-turn coil 3a serving as the transmitting antenna is combined with a transmitting circuit 1 with very low output impedance or a circuit arrangement in which a transformer 6 serving as an impedance matching device is inserted between the single-turn coil 3b serving as the transmitting antenna and the transmitting circuit 5 is employed whereby a current that is sufficiently large in terms of practicability can be made to flow through the circuit.
