PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a withstand voltage test process performed in the apparatus manufacturing process of an image forming apparatus which forms an unfixed toner image on a recording material by an image forming means, and fixes the toner image on the recording material by using the thermal fixing means 109 of a heating system based on heating elements b and c, without increasing the cost of an apparatus main body. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a power source supply port 201 which supplies electric power inside the image forming apparatus, a switching means 213 which is provided in a path from the power source supply port 201 to the heating elements b and c, and connects/interrupts electric power supply from the power source supply port 201 to the heating elements b and c by a mechanism which maintains an electric power supply path from the power source supply port 201 to the heating elements b and c by supplying a prescribed electric current, and external current supply source mechanisms 220 and 219 for supplying a prescribed electric current to a switching means 304 from external device 221, 303 and 304.
