PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera with a remote controller which can securely take a picture through remote controller operation. SOLUTION: The camera with the remote controller is equipped with a remote control unit which is formed independently of the camera, a receiving means which receives the remote control signal sent from the remote control unit, a reporting means which reports the state of the camera, and a control means which places the camera in a release command reception standby state and makes the reporting means report that the remote control is receivable when the receiving means receives the remote control signal for the 1st time and also performs releasing operation when the receiving means receives the remote control signal for the 2nd time within a prescribed time after the receiving means receives the remote control signal for the 1st time.
