PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleanser composition excellent in a property of foams, capable of imparting the skin and the hair with favorable feelings and sufficient conditioning effect when applied, and good in stability at low temperatures. SOLUTION: This cleansing composition comprises (A) an ether-type cationic surfactant of the general formula (1) [R<1> is a 6-24C straight-chain or branched- chain alkyl or alkenyl; R<2> and R<4> are each a 1-6C alkyl or (AO)n H (A is a 2-4C alkylene; n is 1-6; nA may be the same with or different from each other, and their arrangement is arbitrary); and X<-> is an anion] and (B) at least one surfactant selected from anionic surfactant, nonionic surfactant and amphoteric surfactant.
