PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the amount of sheets to be taken out of a package of sheets, in which a bundle of sheets is wrapped in a wrapping paper, by a method wherein a scale to measure the height of the sheets when the wrapping paper is opened is provided so that the amount of sheets can be measured by means of the scale when sheets are supplied onto a paper feed tray or the like. SOLUTION: In a package of sheets 1, a bundle of sheets 10 is wrapped in a packaging paper 2, and the package 1 is formed by folding the paper 2 along fold lines provided on the paper 2. When the package 1 is unsealed and the bundle of sheets 10 is on the bottom surface of the paper 2, scales 11, 12 are formed on the paper 2 at positions corresponding to the corners of the bundle 10. For taking out the sheets from the bundle, the scale 11 or the scale 12 is erected and brought close to a side surface of the bundle 10 of the sheets to estimate the amount of the sheet.
