PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binding implement which can make a binding structure be of a thin type and makes it possible to add and remove papers very easily. SOLUTION: The binding implement 15 is equipped with a base 17 stretching longitudinally, a binding member 19 supported rotatably on one end side in the short width direction of the base 17, a slide member 20 for operating the binding member 19 to a binding position and an opening position and an operating member 21 provided on the base 17 side so that it can engage with and disengage from the slide member 20. The slide member 20 is disposed inside a base part 37 in the binding member 19, while the operating member 21 is so provided that it can operate the slide member 20 by its rotation between a position where it stands up from the base 17 and a position where it falls down thereon.
