PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor capable of precisely measuring the temperature of a gas sensor element without changing the output characteristic of the sensor. SOLUTION: In this gas sensor, when current IRpvs is carried from an electrode 321 (Vs<+> ) for temperature measurement, current Ip<+> is hardly influenced because current of the same magnitude IRpvs is carried in the reverse direction from an electrode 322 (Vs<-> ). Therefore, the fear of a detecting cell Ip influencing oxygen concentration measurement after the temperature measurement can be eliminated since the temperature measurement has no influence thereon, and the time can be significantly shortened. Since the current Ip<+> is hardly influenced by the temperature measurement, the limitation of the current IRpvs is never performed. Therefore, the measuring current IRpvs is never fluctuated, and the resistance of Ip can be precisely measured. |
