PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die for forming a glass lens excellent in durability, capable of forming the glass with high forming precision and a good face rough ness repeatedly for a long time. SOLUTION: The die for forming the glass lens used when manufacturing the glass lens by press forming, is characterized in that the die for forming the glass lens is structured with a silicon carbide substrate and a silicon carbide laminated body laminated and formed on the silicon carbide substrate by the CVD method, and a forming part to be in contact with the material of glass lens is formed on the laminated body of silicon carbide.
