PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable material having high sensitivity and low fog and excellent in image preservability after heat development. SOLUTION: In the heat developable material having a photosensitive layer containing photosensitive silver halide grains, an organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a polymer binder and an adjacent layer adjacent to the photosensitive layer and containing a polymer binder on the base, a compound of formula (1) is contained in at least one of the photosensitive layer and the adjacent layer.
