<p>A tip treatment assembly for use in a casing of a gas turbine engine comprises tip treatment bars 16, which are provided with retaining means, a retaining element and support means. The retaining means may comprise holes ( 24, 26 figure 4 ) through the bars 16 , the retaining element may comprise wire 32 and the support means may comprise support rings 28, 29. End regions of the bars 16 may be located in slots 23 of the support rings 28, 29 and damping material may be provided within the slots 23 adjacent the end regions of the bars 16. A single wire 32 may co-operate with some or all of the retaining means of the bars 16, or individual wires may be associated with a single bar 16.</p> |
