A spacer element (18) with tubular ends (17) is fitted between the opposing ends of the thermal insulation material (11) in order to disrupt the layers of moisture on these ends and/or to disrupt the moisture just below the insulation material surface. The spacer element is then brought into contact with the spliced pipe (10) so that the alarm wire (13) is kept the same distance from the pipe in the splice region as in the thermal insulation material. An Independent claim is also included for the three-part spacer element, comprising a middle part intended for placing in contact with the pipe, and two tubular ends mounted telescopically inside or on the outside of the middle part. |
