PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner for a vehicle capable of obtaining always stable photocatalytic function day and night regardless of the weather, capable of sufficiently decomposing and removing the tobacco smoke, exhaust gas, bacteria and pollutant in a compartment and removing active oxygen from air returned to the compartment to return healthy air containing negative ions in large quantities to the compartment. SOLUTION: A deodorizing filter 14, a dust extraction filter 15, photocatalyst filters 16 and 18 and an ultraviolet lamp 17 are arranged in a box-shaped frame 11 and the air in the compartment taken in from a suction port 11a is passed through the deodorizing filter 14, the dust extraction filter 15, the photocatalyst filters 16 and 18 and the ultraviolet lamp 17 by the rotation of a blower 22 to perform the extraction of dust, deodorization and sterilization, and the air discharged from a blowoff port 11e is negatively ionized by ionizing electrodes 24 and ceramic balls 25 to remove excess ozone and active oygen and negatively ionized air is returned to the compartment.
