The connector (1) accommodates contacts for a cable (6) which contains 48 pairs of signal cores (8) and 16 earths. The connections are via eight connector modules (12), each of which accommodate 6 pairs. The stack of modules is screened by an intermediate metal frame and two mirror image metal outer casings (2, 3).
