PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type washing machine capable of uniformly washing a quilt without deformation. SOLUTION: A drum for performing a washing is rotated at a rotating speed higher than the rotation speed where the centrifugal force acting on the laundry housed in the drum is substantially equilibrated to the gravity to collect the laundry to the drum inner wall side by centrifugal force, and a washing solution is supplied to the laundry to perform the washing. The washing solution is cleaning water (water with detergent dissolved therein) or general water.
