PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for an endoscope which prevents the generation of heat at an incident end face of a light guide by the IR light emitted from a light source and can emitte the sufficient UV rays and the visible rays. SOLUTION: The light source 1, a wavelength control filter 4, a filter 5 of a filter 6, a condenser lens 3a and the light guide 2 are rectilinearly arranged along an optical axis and the light from the light source 1 is condensed by the condenser lens 3 to the light guide 2. The light from the light source 1 includes the light of a UV wavelength, at least the IR light of a visible wavelength ranging from 400 to 650 nm and at least the light of an IR wavelength. The wavelength control filter 4 is arranged between the light source 1 and the light guide 2 and has the characteristics to transmit the light of the UV wavelength and at least the light of the visible wavelength ranging from 400 to 650 nm and not to transmit the light of the IR wavelength. |
