METHOD FOR TREATING LIQUID WASTE CONTAINING HEXACHLOROBENZENE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating hexachlorobenzene-containing liquid waste. SOLUTION: The liquid waste having >=1 ppm total organic compound content and >=0.1 ppb hexachlorobenzene content is brought into contact with activated carbon so that the hexachlorobenzene content is made to be <=0.01 ppb. The liquid waste discharged from a chlorinated organic compound manufacturing step is divided into hexachlorobenzene-containing liquid waste and other liquid waste. The hexachlorobenzene-containing liquid waste is brought into contact with activated carbon, which is then combined with the other liquid waste. The combined liquid waste is furthermore treated.
