PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a hollow fiber membrane, by which the hollow fiber membrane having the desired membrane characteristics can be obtained stably while the heating equipment (manufacturing equipment) is made small in size, the manufacturing efficiency is enhanced and the manufacturing cost is reduced. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the hollow fiber membrane comprises a spinning step to spin the melted crystalline polymer to obtain a hollow fiber, an annealing step to anneal the spun hollow fiber in a steam atmosphere so that the elastic recovery percentage of elongation of 50% is made into >=40% and a drawing step to draw the annealed hollow fiber. The hollow fiber is preferably annealed while being heated to the temperature lower than the melting point of the crystalline polymer by 5-40 deg.C at the annealing step.
