<p>1277300 Valves KOEHLER-DAYTON Inc 15 Sept 1969 [7 Oct 1968] 45455/69 Heading F2V [Also in Divisions E1 and F1] In a self-contained sewage system pressure is applied to a liquid reservoir 20 for a predetermined time period to empty the reservoir and then suction is applied to cause it to refill with liquid to a predetermined level, and comprises a Venturi 45 connected via an inlet valve 32 to a source of air, a normally closed valve 51 to restrict air flow through said Venturi, pneumatic time delay means for opening the valve 51 after a predetermined time period to permit air to flow freely through the Venturi thucs ausing suction to be applied through a vacuum line to the reservoir 20, and means connected to the inlet valve 32 responsive to the liquid level in the reservoir for closing the inlet valve 32. Depression of handle 42 opens the valve 43 thus venting the chamber 39 via the passage 44 and the diaphragm 37 moves up to open the valve 36 allowing air to flow to the Venturi inlet 46 and so to the reservoir 20 to discharge the same to flush the bowl 15 into the tank 10. Pressure is applied through line 48 to the upper side of diaphragm 49 holding valve 43 in the open position. Positive pressure is also applied on line 58 to the flow restrictors 60, 61 which meter the air into the chamber 62, thus in time opening the valve 51 to allow air flow through the Venturi 45. The time at which the valve fully opens can be adjusted by screw 61. A reduced pressure now exists in line 47 thus causing liquid to flow from holding tank 10 via filter 25 into the liquid reservoir 20 until the float valve 67 closes and reduces pressure in line 48 to act on diaphragm 49 and close the valve 43. Valve 36 will then close to terminate the flow of air through Venturi 45. Adjustment screw 81 biases spring 63 to act against diaphragm 82 together with pressure from line 75 to provide a means for preventing the pressure in the reservoir 20 from exceeding a predetermined value.</p> |
