The plant incorporates a material spreader to form chip mats on a spreader belt, and a device to separate the mats. The device has two large-size vertical high-speed saw blades (6,7) for each longitudinal joint to be cut. The blades rotate at a speed, which is adjustable dependent upon the material being spread. They are carried on a drive shaft (9), are at adjustable distance (C) to each other, to adjust the part widths (N) of the spread material mats (2). Pressure rollers (10) are on the outer sides of the saw blades engage on the mats at least in the area of the cut length. |
