ELECTRIC DOUBLE LAYER CAPACITOR AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An electric double layer capacitor and a method of manufacturing the same are provided to obtain an improved electric characteristics such as capacitance, internal resistance, and a leakage current. CONSTITUTION: An electric double layer capacitor comprises metal cases(20,20'), a polarizability electrode(10), a separator(30), and a gasket(40). The metal cases includes disk shape bottom portions(21,21') and a cylinder shape sidewall(22) extended from the bottom portions. The polarizability electrode is comprised of a metal supporting body and powder type active carbon electrode material. The separator is made of porous material only capable of performing ionic conduction. The gasket prevents a short circuit and has an insulation function.
