<p>A test compound is added to a system containing the full amino acid sequence of hepatitis D virus antigen (hereinafter referred to as HDV antigen) or a part of the same, a polypeptide binding to RNA polymerase II (hereinafter referred to as HDV antigen polypeptide) and RNA polymerase II. Then the binding level of the HDV antigen polypeptide to RNA polymerase II is measured and compared with the corresponding binding level in the absence of the test compound. Thus, a compound inhibiting the binding is screened. Also, a test compound is added to a system containing the HDV antigen polypeptide and thus a compound capable of binding to the HDV antigen polypeptide is screened.</p> |
