PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simplified image forming device that is small in size and a low in cost, and can form an image with high quality and prevent production of a toner mixed color at a fast image forming time even when the image is formed by using an electronic photography method and selecting a single or a plurality of colors. SOLUTION: The image forming device 104 includes an image carrier, a latent image forming means, a development means that applies toner of a single or a plurality of colors to the latent image so as to manifest an image, a development means turning support means, a development function changeover selection means that turns the development means around the development means turning support means used for a turning axis by a prescribed turning angle (θ) so as to select a prescribed development function from a plurality of the development means placed around the image carrier opposite to each other while an interval from the image carrier is alternatively switched to a position of a development state, and a transfer means that transfers a toner image alternatively selected and formed by the development function changeover selection means onto an object to be transferred.
