PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a synchronizing mechanism for a manual transmission having a short stopping time for a shift operation and excellent operating feeling with a small constitution. SOLUTION: In this synchronizing mechanism for the manual transmission, the chamfer surface 19a of a chamfer 19 of a synchronizing ring 17 is formed into a shape to make an angle for the advancing direction X of a sleeve 12 smaller than a base part side (second chamfer surface 19c) on a tip side (first chamfer surface 19b) (α1<α2), a chamfer 14 of the sleeve 12 slides on the first chamfer surface 19b of the synchronizing ring 17 and the sleeve 12 is capable of advancing the synchronizing ring 17 to a synchronizing cone side, rotating the synchronizing ring 17 against a frictional force received from the synchronizing cone, even if a rotation difference exists between the sleeve 12 and the synchronizing cone, in a state of the chamfer 14 of the sleeve 12 abutted on the first chamfer surface 19b of the synchronizing ring 17 at the time of the shift operation of the sleeve 12.
