PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a belt deviation correcting device capable of keeping a belt in rotating at a fixed position without damaging the belt, and to obtain an image forming device using the belt deviation correcting device. SOLUTION: The belt deviation correcting device is provided with a detecting means 20 for detecting the position of the side part of the endless belt 6, and a belt deviation correcting means 30 for correcting the deviation of the belt in accordance with the detected position as to the side part of the belt. At the process of correcting the deviation of the belt, the belt deviation recovering force is generated by the belt deviation correcting means 30 so that the operation may be converged in a well-balanced position with the belt deviating force due to belt deviation characteristics peculiar to the device equipped with the belt. The operating amount of the belt deviation correcting means 30 is individually assigned to the position of the belt side part detected by the detecting means 20 while sectioning by a fixed extent in a belt width direction. |
