PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image processing method that can correct even a text area and a picture contained in a rectangular frame in a light color with high accuracy in the case of correcting reverse taking of a color image. SOLUTION: When the image processing unit receives a color image from a scanner (step S1), the image processing unit applies pre-preprocessing such as smoothing for noise reduction (step S2). Furthermore, the processing unit detects an edge from the input color image subjected to the pre-processing (step S3). As a result of edge detection, the pixels of the input image are classified into on-pixels corresponding to character and lines and off-pixels other than them. The image processing unit applies processing to detect frames from the pixels classified into the off-pixels and brings the pixels detected to be the frames into the on-pixels (step S4). The image processing unit applies reverse taking elimination processing to areas classified into off-pixels (step S5) and a printer prints out the image (step S6). |
