PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a both-face light emission type organic electroluminescence element wherein light emission in a light-emitting layer can be taken out not only from the positive electrode side consisting of a transparent electrode but also from the negative electrode side to include a metal-electrode. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescence element has the positive electrode composed of the transparent electrode 2 supported by a transparent substrate 1. In the organic electroluminescence element having at least an organic positive hole transport layer 3, an organic light-emitting layer 4 and the negative electrode 5 in this order, the negative electrode has a laminated structure composed of an inner side transparent or a semi-transparent metallic ultra thin film 7 having a thickness of 10 nm or less and an outer side transparent electrode 8.
