PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable object for communicating with a remote external inquiry device and capable of an arbitrary type of material, especially metal materials. SOLUTION: The object cooperates with a non-contact remote inquiry system and relates to a portable object such as a timepiece. The portable object (1) contains a metal case (2), a transmitter and/or receiver circuit (78) for radio broadcasting signal and a transponder (76) including an antenna (80) connected with the transmitter and/or receiver circuit (78). A sealed vessel (24) made of an electric insulator material containing a timepiece constituting parts inside is attached and held to a specific location in the metal case (2).
