PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for holding data cartridges of at least two different sizes in a storage of a medium storage system. SOLUTION: The device 10 for holding the data cartridges 20 in a storage magazine 30 is provided with a frame assembly 70 for demarcating a chamber 80 the size of which is decided so as to house the largest data cartridges of at least two different sizes inside and a cartridge reference member 90 which is fitted to the frame assembly, can be displaced resilliently within the chamber and holds the data cartridges to be house at a registering position within the chamber by giving additive force to the housed data cartridge.
