A foil layer system intended for use in an electrophoretic imaging system, comprising a first transparent foil layer having a first and a second surface which are located opposite each other, the foil layer being provided with multiple channels of the first type which extend over a part of a thickness of the foil layer from the first surface in the direction of the second surface, the system being further provided with a second foil layer having a first and a second surface which are located opposite each other, the second foil layer being provided with multiple channels of the second type which extend over a part of a thickness of the foil layer from the first surface in the direction of the second surface.
