METHOD AND CLEANING SYSTEM FOR CLEANING MEMBRANE MODULES

The invention relates to a method and to a corresponding cleaning system for cleaning membrane modules (10), which can be used in a water treatment plant. According to said method, the membrane modules are transferred from the water treatment plant into a cleaning container (11, 12), in which the membrane modules are chemically cleaned. The cleaning container (11, 12) is sealed once at least one module has been introduced and a cleaning programme is carried out, said cleaning programme containing the step of mechanically cleaning the membrane module by spraying the latter with a cleansing agent, at least prior to a chemical cleaning step. The membranes are thus cleaned in a simple manner with minimal use of chemicals and negligible production of waste material.
