The invention relates to a method for detecting leakages in a device that contains a liquid. According to the inventive method, a colorant is dissolved in said liquid and the device is irradiated from the exterior with spectral light that has approximately the excitation wavelength of the colorant. A detector detects the fluorescent light of the colorant that is emitted at, on or in the contiguity of the device. The invention thus provides a method for specifically detecting the liquid labeled by the fluorogen when it is emitted by the device, thereby rapidly making any leakage visible.
