PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for providing a medicine at unexpectedly higher flux in the field of transdermal medicine application. SOLUTION: This device, which transdermally administers a diffused hydrophobic medicine to patients for a prolonged period, comprises: (a) a reservoir containing the medicine dissolved in a carrier, wherein semisaturated condition is defined by the amount and solubility of the medicine in the carrier that is substantially sufficient to provide the transdermal flux of medicine during administration, and the flux is significantly greater than that observed when the medicine is provided under saturated condition, and (b) a means for maintaining diffusion relationship of the medicine between the reservoir and patient's skin.
