DATA GENERATING DEVICE FOR MODEL DEFORMATION, RECORDING MEDIUM RECORDED WITH THE DATA, AND NAVIGATION DEVICE USING THE DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device capable of simply and easily displaying a deformed two-dimensionally image at a necessary point on a map, and moreover, largely reducing data amount to be stored in a storage medium. SOLUTION: A data generating part 4 for a model deformation extracts parameter data corresponding to a road part specified by an input part from two-dimensional map data. The data generating part 4 reads a pattern data corresponding to the specified road part from a pattern model storage part 5, and generates data for the model deformation by processing the extracted parameter data referring to the pattern data. The generated data for the model deformation are converted into a two-dimensional image data by an image data generating part 6, and then are displayed on a display 7. In this case, the image data generating part 6 generates the two-dimensional image data by deforming a pre-specified two-dimensional display model by providing it with data for the model deformation.
