PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-performance regenerated polyester tape yarn by adding a compound causing a crosslinking at the melt kneading of a regenerated polyester so as to easily stabilize a film formation at high intrinsic viscosity. SOLUTION: This regenerated polyester tape yarn is easily obtained by adding a bifunctional or higher functional compound having at least either of carboxy group, dicarbonyl group, imido group or amido group to a regenerated polyester to crosslink the polyester at its melt kneading. This polyester tape yarn thus obtained contains 0.01-5 wt.% of the above compound, has an intrinsic viscosity of >=0.62 and has high mechanical performance and durability.
