PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an aromatic series - aliphatic series co polycarbonate useful for an optical material or the like, having excellent color shade and a heat resistant stability. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the aromatic series - aliphatic series copolycarbonate comprising melt polymerizing an aromatic carbonic acid diester, an aliphatic dihydroxy compound having at least one of alicyclic structures and at least one of aromatic dihydroxy compounds in the presence of an ester exchange catalyst, the method comprises mixing the aromatic carbonic acid diester, the aromatic dihydroxy compound and an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal catalyst, dissolving the aromatic dihydroxy compound in the aromatic carbonic acid diester by progressing of the ester exchange reaction, and polymerizing the dissolved mixture and the aliphatic dihydroxy compound having the alicyclic structure.
