PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization capable of obtaining an olefin polymer in an extremely high yield, especially a propylene polymer in a high yield while keeping high stereoregularity, and having a high response capacity to hydrogen, and a catalyst. SOLUTION: This solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization and this catalyst contain magnesium, titanium, a halogen, an electron donor compound, and a dibenzofuran and its derivative represented by a specified structural formula.
